Expert Team in Action to Fight Against Epidemic

Disease prevention has become a top priority in the quake zones, and a team of experts are taking action to fight against any outbreaks.

Experts from health and epidemic prevention groups are disinfecting the settlement areas in the hardest hit regions. Vehicles are used to spray the disinfectants to improve efficiency.

Dong Baiqing, Director of Guangxi Disease-Control Center said "It's effective to disinfect with this method because it can reach every corner of the waste. "

The teams are in remote areas in the disaster-hit region, and they have organized epidemic-prevention clinics. Some teams are also using Mao bamboo in disinfection efforts. And experts from the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention are examining results in an on-site laboratory.

Kan Biao, Researcher of Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention said "We hope to confirm whether there are potential risks of such kinds of contagious diseases, or if there are already these kinds of diseases spreading."

Sixty experts from the PLA Institute of Disease Control and Prevention will make further investigations, and plan the best way to deal with the complicated conditions of the regions.
