A multilateral maritime exercise Maritime Cooperation-2014, centering on joint search-and-rescue missions, took place off the coast of Qingdao on April 23, the day that marks the 65th anniversary of the founding of PLA Navy. It was the first multilateral maritime drill organized by the Chinese Navy.
Seven warships from Brunei, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia along with 12 Chinese naval vessels took part in the event.
