PetroChina's Oil, Gas Production Nearly Restores in Sichuan

PetroChina's oil and gas production in the quake-hit southwest Sichuan Province had almost restored toa normal level, the country's largest oil producer said on Tuesday.

The daily output of gas has reached 99 percent of its full capacity before the quake, the Beijing-based company said in a statement.

PetroChina has pledged 100,000 tonnes of emergency oil supplies to the province and had sent 83,300 tonnes by Monday, according to the statement. The company also said it so far had resumed fuel supply among all gas stations in the province.

The 8.0-magnitude quake that struck southwest China's Sichuan Province on May 12 had killed 34,073 and injured 245,108 others as of noon on Monday.

A primary investigation showed that 14,207 industrial enterprises suffered 67 billion yuan of direct economic loss in the calamity, Vice Minister of Industry and Information Technology Xi Guohua said here on Monday.
