Lin Hong, 23, bank clerk, injured male

Before the quake, Lin served as a clerk in a rural credit cooperative bank in Qingping Township of Mianzhu City.

The two days following the quake saw Lin and his nine colleagues hunting for survivors, protecting the money they had gathered from the bank as carefully as possible.

Lin and his colleagues stagger over hills and mounds of debris, carrying bags of cash and coins to reach the headquarter

At 1 p.m. on May 15, with little to eat and drink, disregarding their own wounds, they were still staggering over hills and mounds of debris, carrying bags of cash and coins that weighed almost 40 kg. Five hours later, a total of 1.35 million yuan ($200,000) reached the cooperative's headquarter in the city. Lin and his wounded colleagues were soon transferred to the hospital.
