Share

The German Red Cross announced on Sunday that it will deliver a mobile hospital mid next week to China's earthquake-hit area in Southwest Sichuan Province.

The mobile hospital can accommodate up to 120 patients and provide medical care for up to 250,000 people, the German Red Cross said in a statement, adding that the project is supported by the German Foreign Ministry.

The mobile hospital, which will be transported to China in two cargo planes, can go into operation within 24 hours.

A German team of doctors, nurses, hospital managers and technicians will also travel to China to temporarily support local medical care in the earthquake-hit area, the statement said.
