Chinese armed force will airlift another 1,154 tonnes of relief materials and send ten more medical teams to quake-hit area in southwest China, the military earthquake relief task force said Friday night.

The new consignment of relief materials comes from military reserve, including 5,000 tents, 100,000 shares of individual food ration, 200,000 pieces of clothes and quilts and 200 power generators, the task force said in a statement.

In 40 to 50 sorties, transporters will load the materials from Beijing, Shenyang, Jinan and Nanjing beginning Saturday morning. All the materials are expected to reach Chengdu, capital of Sichuan Province, by Monday morning, the statement said.

Facilities to set up two field hospitals will be transported by train and motor vehicles. The hospitals will be set up in the areas worst hit the earthquake.

The 7.8-magnitude quake jolted southwest China's Sichuan on Monday afternoon. More than 22,000 people have been confirmed dead.
