Share

Various activities were organized in major Chinese cities to mark the 90th anniversary of the 1911 Revolution led by Dr. Sun Yat-sen.

Beijing held a grand rally at the Great Hall of the People on October 9, where President Jiang Zemin gave a keynote speech.

In Nanjing, more than 50 people, including members of non-communist parties, Whampoa school fellows, and descendants of the 1911 revolutionary martyrs, attended a forum held near the mausoleum dedicated to Dr. Sun Yat-sen.

In Guangzhou, activities and exhibitions of archival art and photographs pertaining to the 1911 Revolution marked the event.

Shenyang has issued a series of stamps featuring the period between the founding of the Chinese Revolutionary League and the downfall of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).
