UPDATED: July 10, 2015 | Nie Er | | | Nie Er (1912-1935), from Yuxi, Yunnan Province, participated in the performances of anti-Japanese operas in Peiping in 1932. He joined the CPC in Shanghai in 1933. The song March of the Volunteers he composed for a film went on to become the Chinese national anthem. Nie was drowned in Japan on July 17, 1935. |
