Yao Ming Named Youth Olympics Ambassador

Former NBA player Yao Ming is taking on a new role. Besides being the owner of the Chinese Basketball Association's Shanghai Sharks and lending his name to numerous charitable causes, he will act as an ambassador for the Youth Olympics in Nanjing in August.

He is the third athlete to become an ambassador, along with South African swimmer Chad le Clos and American golfer Michelle Wie. Yao will go to Nanjing during the Olympics to mentor young athletes and provide guidance to the competitors.
