Geographic Location: It is situated in 31.42-9.35 degrees north latitude and 105.29 -111.15 degrees east longitude in the hinterland of China.

Total Area:  205,800 square km.

Permanent Population: 37.33 million as of May 2011.

Ethnic Groups: There are a total of 55 ethnic groups in the province. Han nationality accounts for 99.5 percent of the total population.

Administrative Divisions: 10 municipalities and Yangling Agricultural High-tech Industry Demonstration Base, 3 county-level cities, 80 counties and 24 city districts, 1,581 towns and townships and 164 street offices under its jurisdiction.
