Panda Cub Yuan Zai Enjoys Sun-Bathing

Caretakers at Taipei Zoo have allowed panda cub "Yuan Zai" to enjoy the sun. It's the first time that the three-month-old cub has sunbathed at the zoo.

Yuan Zai enjoyed basking in the sun for about 10 minutes. The panda cub weighed 183 grams at birth on July 6 and is now nearly 6,000 grams. Recent health checks show Yuan Zai is in good health and has begun teething and crawling.

Yuan zai is the first cub born to Yuan Yuan, and her mate Tuan Tuan, who were gifted to Taiwan by the Chinese mainland in 2008.
