Share

Chinese President Xi Jinping and U.S. President Barack Obama will meet in California, the United States, next month, the Chinese foreign ministry announced in a statement on Tuesday.

Obama's national security advisor Tom Donilon will visit Beijing on May 26-28 to prepare for the meeting, the foreign ministry said.

Obama will host his first summit with Xi on June 7-8 at Sunnylands, the Walter and Leonore Annenberg Estate.

President Obama and President Xi will hold in depth discussions on a wide range of bilateral, regional and global issues, the White House said in a statement.

They will review progress and challenges in U.S.-China relations over the past four years and discuss ways to enhance cooperation.

Prior to the visit to the U.S., Xi will make state visits to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, Costa Rica and Mexico from May 31 to June 6, the foreign ministry said.
