UPDATED: April 24, 2013
Rain Still Falls in Epicenter
Share

Rain is complicating rescue and relief work in the quake zone. Light to moderate showers are forecast for Lushan and Baoxing counties today.

The total rainfall for the month has reached 84.9 millimeters in Ya'an. This has saturated the soil, which has been loosened by the earthquake.

The danger is that even a small amount of rain could bring landslides, debris flow and other geological disasters.

Rain has been heavy at night, which has made disaster prevention even more difficult.
