The death toll from the 7.0-magnitude earthquake that hit southwest China's Sichuan Province on Saturday has risen to 192, with 23 missing, authorities said Monday.

A Sichuan provincial government emergency command center spokesman said as of 6 p.m., 11,470 people were injured, 968 of them seriously.

The quake's epicenter was in the city of Ya'an.

Rescuers have saved 320 people out of the rubbles by Monday noon, Sichuan provincial government said at a press briefing.

More than 22,000 soldiers and paramilitary officers are now deployed in the quake zone.

About 30,000 tents, 115,000 quilts, 10,000 garments, 9,000 boxes of instant noodles and 2,000 boxes of mineral water have been transported to the quake-hit region.

Sichuan government said power in 58 townships has been resumed after the earthquake cut 81 townships out of electricity.
