Drone Pictures Show Quake Damage
Share

Five unmanned drones and one aeroplane are continuing to survey the affected area.

The latest pictures show many of the roads in the quake zone are still cut off, as well as continuing to show the extent of damage to property.

Li Zhigang, National Surveying and Mapping Center, said, "We can see over 200 landslides have taken place in the three major areas within the quake zone. There are 57 major blockages along the highways. This picture shows where landslides have blocked two bridges and a path along the main road into Baosheng Town."

Comparisons between the latest pictures and satellite images from March also show great damage to vegetation across the whole area. Much of the damage has been caused by landslides. Officials say these could later have an impact on residential areas further south, as the rain continues.
