The 7-year-old Beijing girl infected with the H7N9 strain has been transferred from intensive care to an ordinary ward at Beijing Ditan Hospital. Hospital officials said the girl is now in a good condition and a good state of mind.
The girl's infection was confirmed early Saturday. She had been receiving treatment at the Hospital since Thursday. The girl's parents are live poultry traders in a township in suburban Shunyi District.
Beijing's municipal disease control and prevention center said two people who have had close contact with the child have been kept under medical observation and have not shown any flu symptoms.
