CPPCC Session Concludes
Share

The Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), the country's top political advisory body, has concluded the first session of its 12th National Committee.

More than two-thousand members gathered at the Great Hall of the People for the closing. The session approved the work report of the past five years of the outgoing Standing Committee, the report on the proposals submitted by National Committee members to this year's session, and the political resolution of the first session of the 12th CPPCC National Committee.

This year, CPPCC members submitted more than 56-hundred proposals on social conditions and public concerns, and offered many comments and suggestions. The political resolution says great achievements have been made in pushing forward reform and opening up and advancing the socialist modernization under the leadership of the CPC Central Committee.

It also says the CPPCC will center on unity and democracy and carefully fulfill its duties of political consultation, democratic supervision and participation in the discussion and management of state affairs.
