A grand ceremony opened the Jiangsu-Taiwan Lantern Festival.
There are more than 60 sets of lanterns in all shapes and sizes. And the most eye-catching -- these two dazzling dragon lanterns.
Lin Jianer, an organizer from Taiwan, said, "The dragon is a legendary creature in Chinese culture. The Chinese regard the snake as a small dragon. Oganizers from both sides of the strait together made these two 14-meter-high dragon lanterns."
Some of these are more familiar figures, including Transformers, Happy Goat and Big Big Wolf. Even a few angry birds made an appearance.
Against the backdrop of this charming light show, visitors can enjoy mouthwatering bites and take a stab at solving lantern riddles.
The festival will go on for one month till the end of February.
