Share

Guo Gengmao was reelected governor of central China's Henan Province Tuesday at the first session of the 12th Henan Provincial People's Congress, the provincial legislative body.

Guo, 62 and a native of Jizhou, north China's Hebei Province, served as governor of Hebei from January 2007 to March 2008 before being appointed as Henan's vice governor and acting governor in April 2008. He was elected governor of the country's most populous province in January 2009.

At the same session, Lu Zhangong, secretary of Henan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, was elected chairman of the Standing Committee of Henan Provincial People's Congress.
