Works on China's Development Released

A series of videos and books on China's social development in the past decade were released on Tuesday in Beijing. These works were produced by the State Council Information Office (SCIO) and eleven ministries, covering many aspects of the country. The works aim to demonstrate China's modern image to people both at home and abroad.

This is one clip of the videos that shows China's social development over the past ten years. These informational works are focused on the scientific development of Chinese society. They demonstrate China's efforts and achievements in many aspects, including economy, justice, education, environmental protection, transportation, housing, ethnic policies and poverty reduction.

The SCIO held a special ceremony to release the works, which includes twenty books, eight picture albums and nine feature films.

Wang Guoqing, Vice Director of the SCIO said, "We hope that the world can know China in an more objective, accurate, comprehensive and vivid way."

The SCIO presented the books to the Foreign Correspondents Press Center of the Foreign Affairs Ministry, Beijing Language and Culture University and other institutions.

Da Wei, a Russian student in Beijing Language & Culture University, spoke highly of the books and videos. "I think these works will help people in other countries know more about modern China. I know that there are still some people in other countries that see China as a less developed nation."

The information office said the works come in two versions, Chinese and English. And they will be available for embassies, libraries and research centers around the world.

These books and videos for international communication will help promote China's image. For various groups at both home and abroad, they will deepen their understanding of China's scientific outlook on development.
