E-reading Draws Visitors at Beijing Book Fair

The 19th Beijing International book fair is one of the largest of its kind in China. For a book fair of this stature, e-reading is definitely not to be missed.

Song Xiaohui, Marketing Director of Dragon Source Media Group, said, "All you need to do is tap on the magazine of your choice, and it opens right away for you. You can browse the current issue or previous ones. It's exactly the same as the printed version, we also offer online discounts."

Just next door, other forms of e-reading are displayed next to the e-magazines, they serve readers who are looking for a broader range of content.

The company eBookHouse hopes not only to encourage readers' interest in e-books but to promote the exchange of ideas between readers.

Wang Shuang, Director of Public Relations Department Ebookhouse Culture Co., said, "What you see here is the same book as I have in my personal account, synced across devices. We're also working on a feature to enable readers to share their thoughts with other readers through social media like renren or weibo."

39% of Chinese people aged 18-70 are reading with electronic devices, while hundreds of millions read on their mobile phones, no doubt the e-reading market in China holds great promise.
