Taiwan leader Ma Ying-jeou also expressed great concerns over the illegally arrested of 14 Hong Kong activists who landed on the Diaoyu Islands.
Ma held an emergency meeting and established a working team to prepare for any emergency circumstances. Taiwan foreign affairs authority also demanded the immediate release of the Hong Kong activists.
Steve Xia, Spokesperson of Taiwan Foreign Affairs Authorities, said, "We hope the situation develops stably and peacefully. The Japanese side should release the activists who landed on the Diaoyu Islands as soon as possible."
