The U.S. Special Representative for the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), Glyn Davies, has arrived in Beijing, the last stop of his eight-day Asia tour. He's told the press he hopes to expand common ground with China during his two-day visit here.
The new U.S. envoy is in Beijing to send a clear message.
Davies said, "Mostly importantly, I will meet with Wu Dawei (special representative of the Chinese Government on the Korean Peninsular) to discuss issues related with DPRK. We hope to expand common ground between China and the United States."
Davies is a former ambassador to the International Atomic Energy Agency. He's backed with a strong team, including Clifford Hart, U.S.envoy for the six-party talks.
