An exhibition culminating from the "Beauty of Tibet" Painting Contest is being exhibited at the city's folk culture museum in Shanghai. More than 100 art works chronicle the changes of the southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region over the past 60 years after the region's liberation.
Ranging in such categories as oil painting, watercolor, prints and sketches, the exhibition collectively represents great achievements in Tibetan cultural preservation, inheritance and development over the past 60 years. Visitors are taken on tour of the magical land and culture of Tibet.
"It puts the real Tibet in front of us. For those who haven't been there, they will feel Tibet is just like this, and feel very close to it," a visitor said.
While paintings by artists present a beautiful and harmonious Tibet, works by students from Lhasa's school for the deaf portray the experiences of their hometown that are most dear to them.
"My friend told me Tibet is an unpolluted, beautiful place. I think we should extend our helping hands to people there, let their life become better and better," a visitor said.
After the exhibition concludes on November 27, the art works will go for a charity auction, with income to be donated to the Tibetan cultural development fund, for supporting causes in the region's culture and art development.
