Another oil spill has been reported by ConocoPhillips after they admitted the discovery of nine new oil leaks from its Penglai 19-3 oil field on August 20.
The tenth oil spill is about 15 meters away from the north of Platform C. Leaking oil can still be seen on the surface of the water near the affected area in North China's Bohai Bay.
ConocoPhillips said that the clean-up was 90 percent completed as of August 21, and said it would finish the work by the deadline ordered by the State Oceanic Administration.
A joint investigation team consisting of seven Chinese Government departments is discussing a compensation plan. The team has promised to protect local fishermen's legal rights and benefits, as well as the nation's marine environment.
