China and Brazil have agreed to expand trade and technology cooperation, following a Tuesday summit between Chinese President Hu Jintao, and his visiting Brazilian counterpart, Dilma Rousseff.
After their talks in Beijing, the two leaders inked a Sino-Brazilian joint communiqué. In the statement, the two countries call for the Doha Trade Talks to produce comprehensive and balanced results, which address the concerns of the world's least developed nations.
This is Rousseff's first visit to China, since taking office in January. She's leading a delegation of business executives from her country's top companies.
The Brazilian and Chinese presidents will be joined by the leaders of Russia, India, and South Africa at this week's BRICS Leaders Meeting. The gathering is slated to kick off on Thursday, in China's tropical Hainan Province.
