China, Japan to Boost Bilateral Relations

China says the country's growth is an opportunity for the development of the world and provides room for deepening Sino-Japanese relations.

Brainstorming future ties of east Asia's super powerhouses.

Delegates from the China-Japan Friendship 21st Century Committee are gathering in Beijing for a three-day discussion on how to further bilateral ties.

Tang Jiaxuan, Chief Delegate of Chinese Delegation, said, "Both sides should seize the current opportunity to enlarge positive factors in developing bilateral ties while offsetting negative ones. Enhancing a mutually-beneficiary strategic relations and pushing for more achievements in bilateral ties are the common goal for both of the two countries. "

During Monday's talks, Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama China explains China's peaceful development.

China spoke highly of Prime Minister Yukio Hatayama's government in their efforts to develop bilateral relations. Both sides agree that the directions of policies concerning bilateral ties that the two countries are adopting are basically the same.

Delegates from the two countries say this is conducive to improving political trust and pushing foward an all-round development of bilateral ties.

Both sides agree that a close cooperation between China and Japan is the key to speeding up the process of Asia's integration.

They point out the two countries should strengthen dialogue, coordination and cooperation, from a long-term perspective. But the basis is still fragile.

To develop the friendship between the two countries is a long-term and important task. The two sides need to continue carrying out exchanges in fields such as culture, education, toursim, media and youth.

The chief delegate for China, Tang Jiaxuan, says the country's growth is an opportunity for the development of the world and provides room for deepening Sino-Japanese relations. The Japanese delegation considers it vitally importance to further boost strategic and friendly ties between the two.

The China-Japan Friendship 21st Century Committee serves as an advisory body to the governments of both countries on bilateral relations. The current round of meetings is due to conclude on Tuesday.
