Chairman of London 2012 Olympics Talks About the Challenges
 
 

The Chairman of the London Olympics in 2012 says it will be a big challenge for London to host an Olympiad with a lasting legacy. Lord Sebastian Coe is currently in Beijing, along with many other officials from the UK for a whole series of activities, all aimed at promoting the London Games.

Sebastian Coe, chairman of London 2012 Olympics, says "The games in London will create a new city in old city in east London. Those are the transformation of changes we seek. "

Sebastian Coe was among a group of panelists speaking at London House in downtown Beijing on Thursday. The seminar, entitled " Champions of Change" is examining the impact of major sports events on the urban infrastructure, culture and economy of host cities and regions. The gathering was one of the activities held by the the London Development Agency to help London to prepare for a successful Olympics.
