Long March is a major strategic movement of the Communist-led Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army, which succeeded in reaching the revolutionary base area in northern Shaanxi Province after traversing 11 provinces and covering 12,500 km in 1934-35.
Nanchang Uprising, taking place in Nanchang, capital of Jiangxi Province, on August 1, 1927, produced the first army under the command of the Communist Party of China that eventually evolved into the People's Liberation Army.
Jinggangshan Revolutionary Base Area, created by Mao Zedong and his colleagues in 1927 in the Jinggangshan Mountains in Jiangxi Province, is the first Communist-led rural revolutionary base in China, known as the "cradle of the Chinese revolution." |
