China Promotes Three-Network Integration
Share

China is emphasizing the integration of three networks, namely, the Internet, telecommunication services and video broadcasting, according to a circular issued recently by the State Council.

With the integration of the three networks, among which runners are encouraged to join hands to share audio or video cables, people will be able to enjoy video programming whenever and wherever they need.

As broadband development moves into its fifth generation, the three networks are being integrated to allow for people to pay only once for a package of telecommunication and video programming services, which in the past had to be financed with different accounts.

Zeng Jianqiu, a professor with the Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunication, has said that the past five years have seen an outdated cooperation model in which companies have vied to merge with others in order to expand their shares in the market.

"Now, the new circular has begun highlighting the true spirit of cooperation in which network runners can fully benefit from their advantages," Zeng said.

In spite of covering 30 provinces, the efficiency of integration of these three networks initiated in 2010 needs to be improved, Beijing News reported.
