Share

A photo exhibition on Tibet opened here on Monday, providing a window for South Koreans to better understand the past and present of the Chinese autonomous region.

The exhibition entitled "Tibet of China: Past and Present" consists of three parts -- History of Tibet, Serfdom in Tibet and Tibet Today, featuring some 70 pictures about Tibet. Sponsored by the Chinese embassy in Seoul, it remains open until the end of this month.

"The exhibition help me to further understand the history of Tibet and its changes in the past five decades," said Park Jin, a lawmaker of South Korea's National Assembly, at the opening ceremony.

Chinese Ambassador to Seoul Chen Yonghua voiced his hope that the exhibition would help South Koreans get a better understanding of Tibet and boost the friendly relationship between China and South Korea.
