China added 75.78 million mobile phone users during the first seven months of 2012, including 55.34 million 3G subscribers, official data showed Monday.

However, the number of fixed-line users fell 1.91 million during the same period, according to a statement by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

The telecommunication industry reported 610.67 billion yuan ($96.93 billion) in primary business revenues in the January-July period, up 9.2 percent from a year earlier, the statement said.

Revenues from mobile telecommunication rose 11.3 percent year on year during the first seven months, accounting for 73.04 percent of the total, up 1.4 percentage points from a year earlier, while the rest of revenues came from fixed-line businesses, according to the statement.
