Zhang's silver medal is the first ever Olympic medal in China's men's swimming history

Zhang Lin of China won the silver medal in men's 400m freestyle with 3 minutes 42.44 seconds at the Beijing Olympic Games on Sunday.

Park Tae-hwan of South Korea won the gold medal in the event with 3 minutes 41.86 seconds. The bronze medal went to Larsen Jensen of the United States with 3 minutes 42.78 seconds.

Zhang's medal is the first ever Olympic medal in China's men's swimming history.
