Statues of the mascots for the 16th Asian Games stand in People's Square in Guangzhou, which will host the largest sporting gala in Asia from November 12 to 27.
More than 14,000 athletes, trainers and coaches from 45 countries and regions are expected to take part in the Games, vying for 476 gold medals in 42 sports.
Guangzhou, capital of southern Guangdong Province, is the second Chinese city to host the Asian Games. Beijing staged the quadrennial event in 1990.
The 10th Asian Para Games, featuring 19 sports, will follow the Asian Games on December 12-19.
