NEIGHBORS ENJOYING ‘SPRING'

Share

Chinese President Hu Jintao (left) meets with Japanese Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda in Tokyo, on May 7 during his five-day "warm spring" state visit.

In their talks, Hu said he hopes that bilateral relations will be furthered.

Hu's Japan visit is the first one by a Chinese head of state in a decade. Both sides signed a joint statement on advancing their strategic and mutually beneficial relations.

(See pages 10-11 for more about the visit.)
