
On March 5, Premier Wen Jiabao (above) delivers a report on the work of the government to the annual full session of the 11th National People's Congress, China's top legislature, in Beijing.
Wen said the primary goal for the government in 2008 is to maintain steady and fast economic growth while concentrating on changing the pattern of development. He put the estimated growth rates of gross domestic product and consumer price index at 8 percent and 4.8 percent, respectively. |
