Terminal 3 at the Beijing Capital International Airport is set to start trial operation on February 29.

The 1-million-square-meter glass and steel structure, the largest and most advanced passenger terminal of its kind in the world, is a major project in preparation for a passenger surge during the Beijing Olympic Games in August.

When fully operational in July, the airport will be able to carry 82 million passengers a year, compared to the present annual figure of 35 million.
