CANTON FAIR IN FULL SWING

Share

A foreign businessman consults with Chinese exhibitors at the mobile phone pavilion during the 102nd China Import and Export Fair in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, on October 15.

The trade fair, also known as the Canton Fair, was launched in 1957, and is held twice a year, in summer and autumn.

Due to China's lucrative business market, the fair has grown to become the biggest of its kind in the world. More than 480 companies from 57 countries and regions reportedly participated in the latest session in October.

Inset: Foreign clients show great interest in Chinese mechanical products at the fair. The categories of Chinese exports have shifted from previous labor-intensive items to more hi-tech electric and mechanical products.
