She Daike, 66, a photographer, was born in Wushan County, now Chongqing Municipality in southwest China, near the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River.

In 1983, he joined the China Photographers Association and served as vice president of the Hubei Photographers Association in central China's Hubei Province, next to Chongqing in the east.

She was deeply attracted to Three Gorges, namely Qutang Gorge, Wu Gorge and Xiling Gorge, distributed across Chongqing and Hubei. Photography was a means for him to get even closer.

She started learning photography in 1968, and has shot tens of thousands of pictures of Three Gorges over the past 30 years. As one of the first photographers to capture Three Gorges on camera, he has been shooting photos in the area longer than nearly anyone else.

His camera witnessed dramatic changes to nature and people, including the construction of the Three Gorges Dam, the largest water control and utilization project in the world.

She's efforts earned him great fame and various domestic photographic awards. He also has held exhibitions in foreign counties, like the United States and New Zealand. His dream is to continue recording the changes to Three Gorges since the construction of the dam and publish its historic materials.
