China's women gymnasts led the Olympic qualification with an overall 248.275 points after all four rotations on Sunday.

Coming out in the first subdivision in the morning, the hosts overcame an unlucky draw and stood the challenge from the United States, who competed in the afternoon session, to stay atop.

The star-studded American team were second in 246.800 points with a double uneven bars fall from injured Chellsie Memmel and Nastia Liukin. The Russians accumulated 244.400 to finish third, presenting an average performance on each apparatus.
