FM: China to Host BRICS Leaders Meeting in April
Share

China will host the BRICS Leaders Meeting in April, Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi said Monday.

Chinese leaders will attend a series of international and regional meetings this year, Yang said at a press conference on the sidelines of the annual parliamentary session.

In June, the 10th anniversary summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization will be held. In October, the East Asia Summit will be held. In November, the G20 summit will be held in France and the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting will be held in the United States.

"All these are very important international conferences. We will make thoughtful arrangements for the Chinese leader's attendance at those meetings," Yang said.

"We believe China will make greater contribution to the success of these meetings and to promoting regional and international cooperation," he said.
