Premier Wen Attends Gansu Discussions
Share

Premier Wen Jiabao has participated in a discussion with the National People's Congress (NPC) deputies from northwest China's Gansu Province.

During their meeting, deputies presented opinions on various issues, including the development of ethnic minorities, the management of the Yellow River basin, as well as the protection and passing on of traditions.

Wen stressed that ecological construction has been a key focus in Gansu for many years. And that the province has achieved great progress dealing with soil erosion and the protection of relics.

He further pointed out that the development of Gansu is the epitome of China's development in its western region. The area should transform their resources into economic advantages, so as to increase its competitiveness and improve livelihoods.
