Share

Michael Bay's Transformers 4: Age of Extinction has been chosen as the closing film for the 17th Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF).

The producers of the latest film in the series put a lot of focus on the Chinese market after the previous film, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, earned an estimated $175.5 million in the Chinese mainland, making it the highest among the overseas market.

The film will be screened on June 22 in Shanghai. Director Michael Bay and actor Mark Wahlberg will attend.

Chinese stars including Li Bingbing and Han Geng have also been invited in the screening.

The festival runs from June 14 to 22.
