Film Lady in the Portrait Starts Shooting
Share

Lady in the Portrait starring Chinese actress Fan Bingbing began shooting in Chengde Summer Resort in Hebei Province recently. The film is directed by French director Charles De Meaux.

Set photos of Fan in costume have been released, drawing comparisons to Fan's role from 16 years ago in the Chinese drama series Princess Pearl, which was filmed at the same location.

This time round however, Fan has transformed from playing the role of a servant girl in Princess Pearl, to that of a queen in Woman in Picture Frames.

Fan told the press that she found the experience of working with a French film director in shooting a Chinese Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) story very refreshing. She believed that in the imperial palace women would bear a distinctive flavor in the eyes of the French.
