Share

A film carnival has been launched ahead of the 3rd annual Beijing International Film Festival at the Temple of Heaven on April 16.

This year's festival is adding a competitive section with over a dozen domestic and foreign films vying for the Tiantan Award.

More than 260 films from around the world will be screened in more than 20 theaters in the capital in the coming week.

"This year, the film festival is characterized with both high quality and low price," said Wang Hui, spokesperson from the organizing committee. "We have invited many movies with high quality and high cast jury team to take part in the festival. But the ticket price of the movie is very low. And we will hold many events that are close to people's life."

Cinema classic Lawrence of Arabia and all eight Harry Potter films will be screened during the festival.

The event ends on April 23.
