The Seventh annual Asian Film Awards were held in Hong Kong on March 18. A total of 18 awards were handed out, including four special awards. Chinese director Lou Ye's Mystery has taken the Best Film award.
Mystery tells the story of a middle-aged woman who plans to take revenge on her husband after discovering his infidelity.
Qi Xi has been named Best Newcomer for her performance in the film.
Mystery has also won the Best Screenwriter award.
The Philippines is being lauded for its acting talent, with Eddie Garcia winning the Best Actor award for his role in the film Bwakaw. The Best Actress award has been given to Filipino actress Nora Aunor for the film Thy Womb.
Chinese comedy Lost in Thailand has taken the award for Top-grossing Asian Film.
Veteran actor Andy Lau served as the president of the jury. Lau was the winner of last year's People's Choice Award for Favorite Actor.
The Asian Film Awards are organized by the Hong Kong International Film Festival Society. It is the pillar event of the Entertainment Expo Hong Kong held in March annually.
