Lineup Announced for HK Asian Film Festival
Share

The line-up for the 2012 Hong Kong Asian Film Festival has been announced.

This year's festival will open with a screening of cop thriller Cold War.

Other films being presented include Chen Kaige's Caught in the Web and the Chinese remake of Dangerous Liaisons.

The Hong Kong Asian Film Festival originally started out to highlight up-and-coming independent filmmakers.

Now in its 9th year, festival director Gary Mak says it's grown to become a major film festival showcasing edgy Asian movies, "For the Hong Kong Asian Film Festival, we always focus on new directors. This year, we're very amazed to have found a number of very promising, talented young filmmakers. They're making (films) in different topics and genres that I think are very interesting."

The 17-day festival will kick off on November 2 and will close with a screening of South Korean film Pieta, which snatched the top honor at this year's Venice Film Festival.
