A poster-release press conference for the film The Chef, The Actor, The Scoundrel was held on Wednesday in Beijing with major cast and crew members, ifeng.com reports.

Director Guan Hu and lead actors Zhang Hanyu, Liu Ye and Huang Bo attended the event.

Against the backdrop of Beijing during World War II, the film tells the story of three ordinary people, a chef, an actor and a scoundrel, accidentally getting involved in a serious turn of events and triggering a series of nail-biting incidents.

"The roles of the three make me feel excited. I believe the audience will feel the same way," said director Guan Hu.

It's the first time for the three award-winning actors Zhang Hanyu, Liu Ye and Huang Bo to act as producers. They all said it was a relaxing experience and they weren't worried about the box office.

Joining the three in the action comedy are Tanaka Chie, Wang Xun and Liang Jing.

The film is set to be screened for the Lunar New Year slot.
