This year's Moscow International Film Festival sees the world premiere of Transformers: Dark of the Moon (Transformers 3) on June 23, six days before its global release which is scheduled for June 29.

Paramount Pictures announced last weekend that the film will be released earlier in the U.S. and is due to start at 9 p.m. on June 28 in 3D and IMAX theaters, according to a report on the entertainment website Mtime.com.

The 3D robot fighting extravaganza also marks Michael Bay's first experience in making 3D movies.

However, the wait will be longer for Chinese audiences as the film is not due for release in China until July 21 as previously planned.

According to inside sources, the film has successfully passed official examination and is ready for dubbing in Beijing. It is not yet known whether the film will be available to view in the IMAX 3D format.
