If You Are the One II (Fei Cheng Wu Rao II), one of the most anticipated Chinese films this New Year's season, will open in North America on December 24, two days after its domestic release, China News Service reports.

The romantic comedy about a middle-aged man's persistent pursuit for love will open in 20 AMC cinemas in cities with large Chinese communities such as Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco and Boston.

China Lion Entertainment will handle the film's distribution in North America.

If You Are the One II stars Ge You and Shu Qi and is directed by Feng Xiaogang, believed to be the most bankable Chinese filmmaker.

The first If You Are the One film was released in 2008 and grossed 325 million yuan (about $48.8 million) to top Chinese box offices that year.
